Your new cap is a combination of fine fabrics and great craftsmanship. A cap is fragile and should, like any other rigid hat, be taken good care of. Please avoid compressing or squashing your cap. Due to the fine construction of the cap, machine washing or drying is unfortunately not possible.
Your cap should be regularly cleaned using the brush or mini cloth. Use a clean moist cloth to wipe away any dirt or stains as soon as possible. Please note that stains, especially from sweat and chlorinated water, can discolour the fabric permanently if not removed.

It is possible to hand wash your cap, follow these instructions carefully. Washing a cap is like trying to wash a “dry clean only” blazer at home, its difficult due to the many types of fabrics inside the cap. Therefore washing by these instructions is at your own risk, we can not take any responsibility for caps damaged due to washing.
Submerge the whole cap into a bucket of room temperature water and use a suitable sports fabrics soap without bleach or chemicals. Carefully “work” the soap into the caps panels/seams and let it soak for approximately 1-2 hours. Then make a second bucket of clean room temperature water and soak the cap there while you wash away all the soap and rinse thoroughly. Dry hanging in a suitable place and try to uphold the beautiful shape using a small towel or similar inside the cap while drying. Keep away from direct heat such as radiators or sunlight while drying.

Wool/Merino wool caps:
Use a clean moist cloth to wipe away any dirt or stains as soon as possible. Please note that stains, especially from sweat and chlorinated water, can discolour the fabric permanently if not removed. We do not recommend washing this type of cap by hand. We use a moist towel and maybe a little brush to wipe dirt/stains away. If smell is an issue, hang the cap outside in fresh air a few days to let the fabrics vent naturally.
